Float preview party

Last week we took the kids to the Days of '47 float preview party. Remember, our stake had a float in the children's parade in conjunction with the bigger parade and were asked to let it be on display at the party.  Since we weren't able to be at the parade and we usually go to the party we took the kids last Monday.  We spent way too long in line for the clown to make them a balloon and then we finally made it through some of the floats and on to our stake's float.
Does the puppet in the background look familiar?  That's the one   I    we made.  She looked so cute sitting there on the float. And we helped make some of the flowers, too.

The ladies from the stake who were there with the float asked if we would perform "I am a Child of God" in sign language.  We have been working on this in singing time each week for a couple months so the kids could sign it in the parade.

Bear Lake Reunion - Part 2

In the afternoon, we had a great picnic lunch at a park with other extended family members that made it down just for the day.

There were lots of activities.  I missed some of them because Evan wasn't feeling well so I took him back to the cabin where Ben was letting Miles get his nap.  While I was gone they had some fun water activities/games.

Then on to a mean game of soccer.
Trista with cousins and cousin-in-law (is that a word)
My cousin has a 3-year-old girl, Jamie, and she and Kamri became friends and played together for a little while
We had a stick pull "competition".
Ben and Terry were a pretty even match.  No one was budging so they called it a draw.

Obviously Ben beat me

Chilling in the shade

Then they had some races for each age group.  I think this is one of the cutest pictures of Kamri.
Great action shot.  She's so intent on the race.

And the women (and kids).
I guess we can't go anywhere without our shadows :)

This is my grandpa with the great-grandkids.  We live close to him so we get to visit him often.  My kids love to visit great-grandpa.

We also had an excellent game of Ultimate Frisbee.
We split into two teams:  Lombardi's against everybody else.

It was a fun day and great to see some cousins we don't get to see very often.  Thanks Mom and Kaylene for putting it all together.

to be continued....

Bear Lake Reunion - part 3

The last day there we spent the morning/afternoon at the cold beach on a cold day.  It started out cold, windy, and cloudy.  But after a couple of hours the sun came out and warmed us all up.  The kids were reluctant to go in the water at first, but after they finally did they had alot of fun.

Miles was not happy.  He is such a daddy's boy.  If Ben is around he wants no one and nothing but DAD.  And he was not a big fan of being put down in the sand, so this is what Ben was stuck doing all day.  Let's just say it was not the most fun Ben has ever had.

They spent hours making this lake/reservoir thing.  They all worked together so well for so long.  It was nice.

Nope, doesn't like the sand.

He was ok with it as long as he was distracted by the birdies.  Thank you, seagulls.
Well, that doesn't work.
I actually got in the water to play some volleyball
