Evan's a star....

Evan's grade put on a play last night.  He had a big speaking/dance/song part and was actually really excited about it.  He was Professor Snow-it-All and taught everyone how snowflakes are made.  It/he was ADORABLE!  He was the star of the show.  :)  He's sad that it's over.  He had so much fun! I recorded his part last night and have already watched it atleast twenty times today and haven't gotten tired of it yet.  Each time I still giggle and smile a proud mama smile.  

It was snowing one day and Kamri and Miles just sat in front of the window watching for a while.  They were having so much fun with eachother. Too cute!

Story time with mom after baths.  I love reading them books. I wish I took the time to do it more often.  All day would be nice.

Fun on a Saturday

Saturdays can be difficult finding things to keep the kids interested and entertained.  We were sitting around this last Saturday - bored - and were going to put a movie on but the kids were fighting over who's turn it was to pick the movie so I nixed that idea.  Then I started going through all my old ads and coupons and made a pile of trash out of it.  Soon, my brilliant and creative husband ran downstairs to get a box.  He and the kids spent a good hour or more cutting things out of the ads to make the box into a house.  They had so much fun and were entertained with simple stuff for a LONG time with no electronics turned on.  NICE.

This was the final product.

When they were all done I got out a trash bag and we started picking up the trash and putting in the bag.  Ben made us dump it back out then ran downstairs to get our tractor and dump truck.

First, the backhoe (?) picks up the trash...

Then loads up the dump truck....

which then takes it to the trash!

Oh, and then the dump truck ran out of gas so we had to fill 'er back up.

 

This took another good half hour of good, free, creative fun.

Miles just liked playing around in the papers.

Evan's costume

Evan's grade is putting on a play next week.  Evan has a speaking part followed by a song and dance that he has is own little solo in.  He is Professor Snow-it-all.  We had to provide his costume.  As part of it he needed a white lab coat.  I looked all over and couldn't find a child-size one..  So, I found an adult one at the thrift store for $4.99, but it was half off day so I got it for $2.50.  Pretty sweet deal.  

Then I unpicked, cut, and sewed it back to together to make it fit him.  Here's the before and after...

(this is actually one my dad borrowed from the middle school.  We were going to just roll up the sleeves and use it, but it was so long when he practice his dance moves you couldn't really see what he was doing and it looked like he was going to fall over.  I forgot to get a picture of the before of the one we actually used, but it was even bigger than this.)

Now we have one to use forever.  They like to pretend they're doctors sometimes so this should be fun for them.

Little Mother Hens...

Miles was feeling a little sick last week.  He has two teeth coming in at top and he never takes it very well.  He actually let Kamri hold him and take care of him.  Usually he whines and cries because she tries to hold him all day.

 And then they were sitting and watching a short movie while I was getting lunch ready and he totally fell asleep on Sara's lap.  I love these moments.

 He wakes up with AWESOME hair.  It was time for a haircut again.  His hair grows like a weed.

 Kamri got a haircut last week.  I was tired of that really fine baby hair at the ends so we cut it off.  She looks so cute and innocent with her hair that way.  It almost fools us :)

Ultra lite flight

When we were in Hawaii Ben took me on an Ultra-lite flight.  I mentioned in my posts about Hawaii but I finally got our pictures back so here are some of the pictures that were taken on our little adventure.

A day at Jungle Jim's

Kamri, Miles, and I met my mom and dad and Sabrina and Logan at Jungle Jim's last week.  They spent a couple hours riding the rides.  

Logan LOOKS like he's enjoying himself, but....

 this is pretty much what he thought of the rides.  See the alligator tears on his cheek.

  A lot of the pictures are a bit blurry.  They were moving too fast to get a great picture, but atleast you can see the HUGE smiles on their faces.

 The jeep ride was the hit for the youngens.

 Even Logan liked this one.
