cooking

We're teaching Evan how to cook.  Sara cooks breakfast about 3 times a week and can make a  few dinner dishes.  We thought it was time to let Evan share in that work and it's a bonus it is a cub scout requirement as well.

He made pancakes (from scratch) for breakfast and last night he and Ben made the Lasagna for Miles birthday/Mother's Day.  He loves to be given responsibility ( as long as it's somethign he wants to do ).

Looks like early bed time is in order.  They woke up this morning and then came and plopped down on the ground - still tired.

spring = dirt

Piano competition...

Sara got 3rd place in her piano competition on Saturday.  She was a little bummed because she's gotten 3rd in every competition she's done.  The girl who got 1st played the same piece Sara did so she was a little disappointed that, apparently, she didn't play it as well.  I think she did awesome and 3rd place is great, but I understand that she would like to place higher some time.  But for now, we'll just be happy with how well she did.

Asia, Asia, Asia...

This girl is so stinkin' cute!!!

Asia's head wound....

yep, head wounds bleed A LOT!!

Long story short....the kids were playing in a van, Asia was leaning against, Kamri didn't know and opened the door, Asia fell out and hit her head on something (probably the corner of the door) and fell to the ground where she got a little scraped up back there, too.  So sad!  But a visit to Uncle Dr. Koy and two stitches later she's as happy as can be.  She did have a hard time wantign to sleep for a couple nights after because it hurt to lay down on her head, but now you wouldn't even know it happened - until you look at the back of her head and see the stitches.  She was tough and only cried during the numbing shots.  She smiled through the rest even though I was holding her head to keep it still. - a dum dum sucker will do that for ya.

See, just as sweet as ever

And even making faces at the camera

Baby Liam

My sister had her first baby three weeks ago and we got to go visit him.  The hospital didn't let kids that were not siblings in so they had to wait until he was a few days old, but boy were they excited.  He's a cute, cute baby...

Asia would not let him go.  Every time we tried to take him she would squeeze him and say, "No, no, no!"

Baby kisses are the best...

Love, love, love...

She woke up in the middle of the night and just wanted to cuddle on the chair.

Whenever she or Miles wakes up from their naps she always runs to him saying, "I, hu..."  (Asia for; I want "hug")  Usually he's a bit of a grump when he wakes up and ignores her and won't let her, but some days he just lets her do it.  This time they just laid down on the floor together.

4-years-old!!

Miles turned 4 yesterday!!  He has been so excited for his birthday and was for some reason just really excited to be four.  You can tell by his expression in the first two pictures.  Seriously - really excited.

Months ago he told me he wanted a Ninja Turtles cake.  I spent hours making it and then yesterday at church he said, "But I didn't want you to make it.  I wanted one from Sam's club." Don't know where that came from because I never buy cakes when I can just make one.  But, he was still glad to have his cake.

This was in the morning.  I brought it out so he can see it.  See, he was excited.  His eyes just lit up!!

And the best part of all - PRESENTS!!

A homemade card from Sara

Evan gave him a few of his old matchbox cars

"Kamri" gave him a Superman movie.  This is one of those things that just makes him happy.  We'll play the Superman theme song and he just gets a huge smile on his face.

About a week ago he said, "Mom when I turn four I'm going to be Raph (ninja turtle Raphael)."  I asked him what he meant and he said, "I'm going to get some Raph things (the weapon that Raph uses)."  It's a good thing his cousings were actually getting rid of theirs or he would not have gotten it.  Before he would get our beaters out of the drawer and use those.

A card from Grandma and Grandpa Lombardi

All the kids huddled around him to read what it said.

And a coaster car from Mom and Dad.

Pace and Misti joined us for cake and ice cream.

Then we had to let him out to play with his car for a little while before bed.

I lvoe this kid.  He is my most stubborn, sometimes impossible kid but that smile of his is permanent and so big you can't help but smile back.  It can seriously brighten a whole room.  And he's such a goof and loves the attention it gets him.  We are so glad he came to our family four years ago.

Love you, Buddy!!
