Gymnastics

I decided that Kamri (and I) needed something for her to do to redirect some of her energy. So I signed her up for a gymnastics class near us. Wednesday was her first day, and she LOVED it. She's so excited to go again this week.

She loves doing somersaults

She was a little timid on the bars

Because of her age, she's supposed to be in the Mom and Tot class. So that's what I took her to on Wednesday. But after a little while they told me to take her to the older class from now on because she was able to do most of the stuff by herself. Good job, Kamri!!

In case any of you are interested, here's a link for a $10 off coupon for the new Tinkerbell movie Blu-ray combo pack. It came out this week and Wal Mart usually sells them for about $20 the week of release. Which means, $10 for the movie. Not bad!!

Fall activities

Some people say they love fall. There are three things I love about fall: sweaters, sweatshirts, and jeans. There are other things I hate: winter is coming, no flip-flops, and winter is coming. But, we did get into the fall spirit this last week.
We played in the leaves.....

...and made our version of jack-o-lanterns.
Instead of the large mess of pumpkin carving, we made a much smaller mess with faces made of gourds.

We're in it for the long haul...

My little girl now has glasses. To me, that makes her seem really old. She got two pair and likes to switch them off according to what she is wearing. She's such a girl. She looks adorable in them and likes them. Although she needs to only wear them for boardwork and such, she likes to wear them all the time. When she first put them on, she said, "Mom, it used to be all black and white. Now it's so colorful!" I don't think it was black and white, but that's how she could explain it. all the way home from the eyeglasses place, she was reading all the signs we would pass that she couldn't see well enough to read before. It's amazing how sad it made me to know things were blurry and how happy it made me to know it is all clear now. I think I'm remembering how it felt when I first got glasses and could see. It was amazing so I'm glad things look so much bette for her. (Too bad, like me, she'll have to have them (or contacts) for the rest of her life).

Way to much Halloween...

my little cowboy, ladybug, and angel

...and pumpkin

I made a list of all the Halloween festivities we could do this year. There were 4 (two carnivals, one trunk-or-treat, and the regular trick-or-treating). In my opinion that is way too much Halloween. So, I made an executive decision to only go to two. This last Saturday was the ward Trunk-or-treat.

Zoo Field Trip

I was able to go on Evan's field trip with his class yesterday. We went to the zoo. His teacher called me and 4 other parents and asked if we could come chaperone. Four other parents ended up just showing up to come. They can only have a certain number of parents on the bus and only so many paid for. So the others ended up paying for themselves and driving up. This made the groups extra small. I was supposed to have four kids in my group, but ended up having only Evan and one other girl who is actually in our ward. It was a little chilly, but that was okay because the animals were really active.

My small little group.

We got to see the new baby elephant. It was really cute.

One of Evan's best friends at school (who happens to be in our ward, but a class older so he didn't really know him before school started).

He's home...

After being gone for 8 days on an island in Panama doing some service witha non-profit organization, Ben is finally home. He came home Sunday night. We all were REALLY happy to have him with us again. Because he was on an island where there was no phone, he had to take a boat to a different island to use the payphone to call us. So, when he was able to call was hit and miss. That was hard. But, we are so glad he had a great time, wondeful experiences, and was safe. Welcome home, Babe. (Hopefully I can convince him to get on here sometime and do an update of his trip)
