Kamri's big first day of school was yesterday. She was super excited and has been counting down the days for a while. It was really hard for her to wait while the older kids went to school a week before her. But as the day got closer and when it finally came she was excitement and smiles. She was/is so ready!!
She was supposed to make a paper doll to look like her. So I got some of the fabric from the skirt I made her for her first day and made a matching skirt for her doll. Then found some random fabric from my stash and cut out a shirt shape and glued that on with some yarn for hair. She colored in the shoes and face and voila...
This is our countdown blocks we used to countdown the days
I love seeing how their handwriting changes and improves. Here's her "kindergarten".
This is her friend from our ward she gets to walk to school with every day.
Bye, Mom!!
on her way into school
She was so excited to tell me all about her day. The crosswalk is right in front of our house and she ran across with the biggest smile on her face. She ran up to me and basically jumped on me to give me a hug she was so excited.
And of course our traditional first day of school cookie she made sure, several times, to tell me she wanted for her first day, too.
I can't believe I have three kids in school. We're trying to figure out our new schedule. With our nap schedule, lunch, and school I don't know that I will ever be able to leave the house for the school year. It might be nice to be stuck though.
