Our first morning there we had to wake up at 4 am (Hawaii time) to get ready and drive to our first activity. Ben had booked an ultralight flight over Hawaii for sunrise that morning. This is basically a glorified hang-glider for lack of a better description. It's hang-gliding wings attached to a seat with a motor. I couldn't believe Ben had wanted to do this because he is scared of heights and of flying. I guess he wanted to face his fears.
Anyway, we got there about 6 am and Ben let me go up first so I would be up there for the sunrise. It was really cool. (The pictures I have don't give it justice, but we bought some the pilot had taken and I will post those as soon as I get them back from my brother-in-law.) He flew us over the Northwest tip of Hawaii and I got to fly through some clouds and we actually helped fly it for a little bit.
What do you think? A little scared out of his wits?
Nice beanie to protect my head from the gross-worn-by-everyone-helmet - thank you very much.
Sweeeet jumpsuits
What's Hawaii without pictures of the sunsets. This was our second night's sunset from our lanai (balcony).

And isn't Ben also afraid of little fishies in the water? He really was facing his fears.
